Vincennes University Jasper Campus is an extension of Vincennes University, a comprehensive two-year college. Since opening its doors in September, 1970, VUJC has served thousands of students from southern Indiana counties. VUJC campus is located on SR 162 on 130 acres in a quiet, rustic setting. Over 1,300 full-time and part-time students are enrolled at VUJC each semester. Vincennes University Jasper Campus offers a wide variety of day and evening classes. Courses are available so that students can take a full schedule, 12-17 semester hours, in only two or three days a week or evening classes, carry as much as 12 semester hours, while employed during the day. However, there is not a minimum number of hours that a student must take. The faculty at VUJC are well-qualified in their respective fields of expertise. A student/professor ratio of 17 to 1 results in small classes, individual attention, and a sincere concern for each student’s welfare and academic success.

The Alvin C. Ruxer Student Center, a gift of the late benefactor for whom the building is named, includes a gymnasium area, a walking track, a fitness training room, a food service area, and the Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame. The center was opened in the spring of 1991.

The Arnold F. Habig Center houses an expanded library, expanded science lab facilities, a technology lab, a nursing lab, additional classrooms, and faculty offices. The building, dedicated in 1998, was named after the Jasper businessman who pledged a million dollar endowment to the Jasper campus.
