DCADC Enterprise Loan Fund Receives $90,000 Grant Award
The Dubois County Area Development Corporation's Enterprise Loan Fund received an additional installment of capital in the form of a $90,000 grant from the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Business Enterprise Grant program. The grant was matched with $10,000 of local funds.
The DCADC ELF is intended to help businesses in Dubois County who are looking to create jobs and import money into our economy. It provides the minimum "gap" financing needed to assist the local financial institutions in completing a financing package. In this way, the ELF will compliment local resources
rather than attempting to replace or compete with traditional lenders.
Bob Grewe, President of the DCADC, noted, "The funding could not have come at a better time, considering the credit concerns that seem all too prevalent in today's economy. The Enterprise Loan Fund can address the gap between the capital projections of a business plan and what the bank is willing to lend. This helps companies succeed even when conventional lending is not viable."
The Enterprise Loan Fund was started in 2007, and has loaned out $75,000 to local entrepreneurs who have created jobs and brought investment into Dubois County.
